Affirmations are words and thoughts centered on a certain belief.
They can be negative or positive. They can be habitual beliefs created from prior experiences, even in childhood, or they can be consciously chosen words intended to reprogram our way of thinking and our subconscious minds.
Why are they important?
Energy flows where attention goes. This is the basic truth of the Law of Attraction. In essence, all thoughts turn into things. What we are thinking and focusing upon, we create.
Whether you recognize it or not, you use affirmations every day.
Every time you complain about your job, you’re affirming those negative aspects of the job to persist.
Every time you tell yourself that there’s not enough time in the day to get everything done, you’re affirming that.
We affirm negative politics. Negative relationships. Negative health conditions.
Consider what you are affirming each day….in your thoughts, your words, even in your actions.
Every day you are creating your next day. We all are.
Thinking positively is easier said than done. Boy, do I know it. I spent the first 40 years of my life (and truthfully plenty of days since), thinking “realistically”, which in most cases, was negative. There were a lot of “I can’t’s, I shouldn’t’s, It won’t’s”.
Subconscious beliefs just don’t move over and say “Oh?, Today we’re going to think positively? Ok, I’ll back off.”
It can be difficult. It can be challenging. For many of us, it’s changing a lifelong habit. Be gentle with yourself.
I am a firm believer in positive affirmations. I have experienced their power. I have also experienced the power of their absence.
My advice? Start small. Most importantly, start with something that’s True.
“I am willing to experience the good in this [event, person, situation].”
“I am blessed with the ability to decide how I will experience today.”
“Where I am right now is exactly where I am supposed to be. My soul is learning at the perfect pace for me.”
Remember, the only limit to what we can achieve is the limit we place upon ourselves.
Sending you all love and peace!
